FA Cup 1st Round Proper: Swindon Town 3 1 Walford Town Att 5,703
Swindon ease to victory
Swindon Town enjoyed a comfortable 3-1 victory over Walford Town.
Although the Wally's dream of a third only ever appearance in the 2nd round proper was destroyed in the first 10 minutes, the win was thoroughly deserved for Swindon who turned their superiority into goals in the FA Cup First Round game at the County Ground on Saturday.
Central defender Lloyd Jones got Swindon off to a great start by scoring from 22 yards which hit the inside of the post before crossing the line on 6 minutes.
Town's main forward Islam Feruz doubled Swindon's lead with a fine header on just 10 minutes to turn Walford's great day out into a potential thrashing.
Norris scored with a unstoppable well struck effort into the top right corner from 20 yards in the 28th minute to extend the lead even further.
The last goal of the game came in the form of an embarrasing own goal by Lloyd Jones: an incident which will undoubtedly have caused him some embarrassment, and will also be on shown on soccer blooper reels for years to come!

Walford Town manager Graham Dillon has been responding to media reports in the wake of recent questions.
BBC London 94.9 journalist Jeremy Easton asked Dillon, " Jamal Salim Magoola has gone on record stating that he has to leave Walford Town for the good of his career. Is that something you are prepared to allow?"
Dillon responded as calmly as ever, saying, "If he feels that strongly about it then I might consider it, but I personally think that he's giving up up a bit too soon".

Jamal Salim Magoola facing unxcertain future at Walford after row with Graham Dillon
The long term future of Jamal Salim Magoola's Walford Town career is in doubt today following reports of a row with Walford manager Graham Dillon.
Reports from the School Lane dressing room suggest that Magoola approached Dillon to ask for a move away from Walford to find regular football and was left angered by his manager's refusal to sanction such a move.
The reaction of some of Magoola's team mates has the potential to cause a further headache to Dillon with a handful of players reported to be unhappy with the way the goalkeeper has handled the situation.
Whilst the manager will be pleased to have the support of some of the players, the news that a handful of key players including star attacking midfielder Brodie Paterson are siding with Magoola will be a concern to Dillon as he attempts to prevent the situation from escalating further.
