Walford Town in control as U's are pushed aside

Walford Town battled to a deserved 2-1 victory over Colchester United on a fine summer's afternoon in their friendly game at School Lane.

Walford Town finally took the lead when veteran winger Alireza Vahedi Nikbakht scored a close range finish into the bottom corner on 45 minutes.

Ball winning midfielder Craig Slater had a chance to score form the penalty spot for Colchester on the 53rd minute mark but Tshepo Motsoeneng was able to deny him.

Defensive forward Denny Johnstone then equalised for Colchester in the 78th minute with a close range finish into the bottom corner.

Howard scored the winner from the spot after Eastman gave away a penalty for tripping his opponent inside the box.

Howard's impact delighted the fans with his late goal.
