FA Cup 2nd Qual Replay Great Wakering Rovers 0 Walford Town 5 Att 652
Wally's give a belated five star performance
Walford fans sang the praises of their heroes at Burroughs Park as Walford Town ran out 5-0 winners over Isthmian North side Great Wakering Rovers in their latest FA Cup Second Qualifying round replay fixture.
The highlight of the game was undoubtedly a hat trick from Walford Town's Karlan Ahearne-Grant.
Thurston Johnson got Walford Town off to a flying start with an effort close to goal which hit the post before spinning in on only 6 minutes.
Young striker Karlan Ahearne-Grant doubled the lead with a towering header on 13 minutes.
List scored with a header from a goalmouth scramble in the 26th minute to extend the lead and virtually put the game to bed.
An error from GWR's Samuel Thompson allowed Ahearne-Grant to score from 10 yards after 59 minutes and Mr Ahearne-Grant completed the rout on 68 minutes with a simple tap in to complete his first ever hat trick in senior football.
Maybe a replay could have been avoided if the strongest team was put out initially on Saturday but manager Graham Dillon has every right to rotate his team if he feels it the right thing to do.
Walford Town will be at home to fellow Vanarama South side Weston Super Mare in the 3rd Qualifying round.
